Responsibilities This position presents the opportunity to design, develop and operate a new training program as well as maintain a clinical practice at VHS. In addition to excellent clinical and leadership skills, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record of academic excellence and be knowledgeable of ACGME policies and procedures. The Fellowship Program Director will be engaged in providing quality education in a clinical environment, serving diverse patients. We are also seeking faculty that contributes to peer reviewed journals and works with residents to foster their interest in scholarly activity. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, flexible, a team player, motivated with excellent communication, critical thinking, analytical, and relationship-building skills, and will assist with program growth with a willingness for a broad scope of practice to meet the needs of the Fellowship program and the community at large. The candidate shall spend 80% of their time performing clinical responsibilities and 20% of their time performing administrative responsibilities as Hospice and Palliative Care fellowship program director.
Qualifications A degree in Medicine or Osteopathy is required. An unrestricted license to practice medicine in New Jersey is required
Board Certification in Palliative Care and Hospice Medicine required
Minimum 3 years of Graduate Medical Education experience required; GME leadership is preferred
Maintains CME credit hours as required for Board Certification and/or hospital staff privileges
Maintains up-to-date credentials, including CV, License, DEA, CDS, Board Certification, and documentation of Hospital admitting privileges
Proven relationship-building skills with physicians as well as with all other key stakeholders
Skilled in problem resolution and strong analytical abilities
Ability to build trust and confidence with the utmost integrity
Ability to lead change and build consensus to support change
Solid clinical and clinical data-related analytical skills
Ability to serve as a role model for collegiality and collaboration across the organization
