The FRIEND’S Project Director is responsible for implementing the National Center for Community-Based Child Abuse Prevention (NCCBCAP) Grant according to the approved work plan and Cooperative Agreement as administered by the Children’s Bureau. Administratively, the Project Director reports to and is supervised by the Families and Communities Rising (FCR) Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Manage the FRIENDS workforce through recruiting, hiring, training, supervising, and deploying staff and/or contractors who will support the implementation of the NCCBCAP. Conduct and document annual performance reviews, recommend/document changes in salaries or employment status; process timesheets, approve leave; and inform the CEO of any personnel problems. Assure personnel and contractors have the support and resources necessary to do the work assigned. Manage the implementation of the project per the cooperative agreement and annual work plan. Attend all required Children's Bureau meetings. Assure collaboration with other national entities, oversee the identification of
TTA needs, and the development and successful implementation of a plan to address needs.
Oversee activities for external and internal site evaluation activities. Assure that the Children's Bureau receives all reports as required and is otherwise informed on a regular basis of progress/problems. Write funding renewal proposal and semiannual program progress reports. Follow all agency procurement policies and processes. Work with the Associate Director of Administrative Services and FCRs CFO to ensure that regular, monthly budget reports are provided. Assure that project grant funds are spent with proper authorization. Collaborate with the CEO and other directors as an active member of the management team. Attend management team meetings and work collaboratively with the CEO and other directors in the general administration of FCR, Inc. Work with members of the FCR Board as requested by the CEO. Prepare monthly reports for Board Meetings and present at Board Meeting as requested. Direct the FRIENDS Management Team and keep them informed of FCR
management decisions including policy development/revision, procedures, and fiscal and human resource changes.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities)
Master’s degree in social work, Public Health, Education or similar field Experience in child abuse prevention, family resource and support, and/ or child welfare Five or more years nonprofit program management experience Experience successfully leading organizations, supervising teams, and supervising individuals Experience working within state and governmental structures Proven grant writing experience Knowledge of and experience in primary and secondary prevention

vision, ability to adjust focus, and read and interpret documents. Frequently engages in mental concentration, analysis, and formulation.
Using Technology: Utilizing computers, projectors, and interactive whiteboards
can involve extended periods of sitting or standing while operating these devices.
Travel: Must have the ability to travel up to 15%.
