Salary: Range: $70,000-80,000 Purpose of the Position The Program Director will serve as the lead for advancing EO's community partnerships for early learning. As an employee of EO Companies, the Director will catalyze partnerships that promote high-quality, affordable early childhood care and education throughout the region. The Director will focus on supply building, public education, and directing the efforts of the Virginia Business Roundtable for Early Education (VBREE) Southwest Virginia Division. The role involves convening partners across sectors to address childcare access gaps, support workforce sustainability, and align efforts with economic and workforce development goals. This high-visibility role requires a strategic, collaborative professional committed to building a stronger early childhood ecosystem supporting families, communities, and economic growth. Essential FunctionsRegional Strategy + Cross Sector Convening Lead the development and execution of a regional early childhood strategy aligned with VBREE priorities and local economic needs. Convene leaders from business, government, philanthropy, education, and childcare sectors to foster alignment and joint action. Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workgroups, and advisory committees to drive consensus and impact. Serve as a regional champion for early education, demonstrating its ROI and relevance to workforce participation and community resilience. Provide briefings and share success stories with officials, business leaders, and organizations. Represent Southwest Virginia at VBREE events and legislative briefings. Advise leadership on policies impacting early childhood care and education. Child Care Supply Expansion & Workforce Sustainability Disseminate data on geographic and demographic gaps in childcare. Develop strategies to increase access, including new centers, family childcare, employer-supported options, and shared models. Support innovative facility and staffing solutions. Promote educator compensation, reduce turnover, and support career pathways. Build partnerships with workforce and educational institutions for credentialing and training programs. Utilize data systems to track metrics and share best practices. Physical Demands Requires sitting, talking, hearing, using hands, occasional standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Position Type and Hours Core hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility for meetings outside these hours. Travel within Southwest Virginia is required.
