A leading company in the chemical manufacturing industry is seeking a  Director of Procurement  to lead strategic sourcing initiatives, optimize supplier relationships, and drive procurement excellence across global operations. The ideal candidate is a seasoned chemical industry professional with strong leadership, analytical, and negotiation skills. Working cross-functionally, the new leader will strengthen supply chain resilience by developing category strategies and managing cross-disciplinary sourcing projects while ensuring compliance with quality systems and advancing cost-effective, innovative procurement solutions.
Salary + Additional Benefits:
$170,000-$200,000 + Bonus Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance 401K - company match

Responsibilities:
Develop a corporate procurement strategy based on operational and sales requirements. Develop contractual & strong relationships with the Company’s Vendors to ensure continuity of supply. Negotiate prices of chemicals and operational spend below market prices to achieve company goals and expectations. Develop and administrate the procurement of all inventories, supplies, products, and parts related to operation, including all vendor contracts. Conduct Vendor audits as required, Quality RM’s with R&D before purchase. Develop and manage pool of approved suppliers locally and oversees for each RM, and request quotes and compare prices for maximum ROI. Estimate and establish cost parameters and budget for purchases. Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability. Monitor monetary savings and cost comparison by setting/implementing correct lead times, min and max stock for maximum inventory efficiencies. Discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services with quality control personnel, users, suppliers, and others to determine source of trouble.  Initiate Supplier Corrective Action. Supervises maintenance of purchasing related documents and records. Controls or delegates the control, that raw materials are received in time and according to purchase order requirements. Monitor pricing trends of key raw materials. Review that purchasing documents contain all necessary data, clearly describing the products or services to be supplied if necessary. Work with Global Corporate team on collaborative sourcing efforts and consolidation if warranted. Manage a team of Buyers and other personnel as required. Manage and keep overall RM inventory & SMOG to a minimum, within budget targets.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry/ Petrochemical engineering Certification in Supply Chain will be an advantage Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in the Chemical field Ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative and strategic solutions Experience with managing projects with multi-disciplined team members Well-developed leadership skills required to lead a diverse team Ability to learn and work with Chempax ERP and have strong computer skills Financial analysis skills and knowledge or legal documents Strong administrative skills, well-developed management skills, principles, and people High energy, clear goal orientation, and strong work ethic, ‘can do’ attitude Ability to work independently, self-motivated, and interact collaboratively with multiple levels of staff
