The Director of Precision Medicine will support client engagements that inform business and advocacy strategies related to commercial and public payer policy, coverage, coding, and pricing/reimbursement. The ideal candidate has deep knowledge of the complex molecular diagnostics and precision medicine sector, with a focus on payer requirements for coverage, payer coverage processes/timelines, payer reimbursement considerations, and existing payer policy. They will also have a good grasp of the various state and federal bills that, if passed, will significantly impact the molecular diagnostics environment (e.g., VALID, SALSA, state biomarker bills).
The Director of Precision Medicine supports client engagements, presents findings to senior leadership, collaborates cross-functionally, drives business development, and mentors and manages performance for junior team members.
ADVI’s Precision Medicine Solution focuses on a diverse range of market access and commercialization issues, such as coverage, coding, and payment across commercial and public payers (Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid). ADVI advises on how our clients’ products and services fit within the coverage and reimbursement landscape across test platforms and help our clients optimize coverage, patient access, and appropriate reimbursement for their products.
ADVI relies on deep subject matter expertise and years of experience engaging the MACs, CMS, and AMA CPT. ADVI has a thorough understanding of business and policy issues in the sector, which we leverage to produce unmatched results for our clients.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
Support business development activities and revenue delivery targets set by Solution Leader Build relationships within existing client to broaden reach including generating new business across ADVI Solution verticals, creating new client opportunities, building on your own and the firm’s subject matter expertise Provide subject matter expertise to client teams in a manner which strengthens the ADVI brand with the senior leadership of these clients, including serving as a subject matter expert on precision medicine policy-related issues impacting molecular diagnostic laboratories, the federal government, and other key stakeholders. Support client engagement to help solve complicated client problems through both short- and long-term projects and ongoing retainer relationships Regularly present findings to VP-level or higher client stakeholders Cross-functional collaboration with other ADVI departments to emphasize teamwork across the organization Develop, train, manage, and mentor Associates, Senior Associates, and Managers, including conducting performance management reviews Manage a portfolio of clients supported by the Precision Medicine team, including account management, project management, and team building. Lead client engagement to help solve complicated client problems through both short- and long-term projects and ongoing retainer relationships. Create strategic and tactical recommendations based on data-enabled qualitative and quantitative research related to client objectives and deliverables and translate such recommendations into clients' business implications. Interact with and present to senior-level executives across clients. Contribute to generating new business and growing existing client accounts. Work independently and in cross-functional teams to contribute to the origination, development, and delivery of projects to clients. Actively speak, write, and engage in thought leadership. Train, supervise, and mentor team members within the Solution area and across the firm’s other Solution teams.
Competencies
Demonstrates a solid understanding of federal and state regulatory bodies and government payers including CMS (Medicare Part B, Part D, and Advantage), Medicaid (Medicaid FFS and Medicaid health plans), and state healthcare programs and how federal policy impacts the diagnostic testing industry. Expands the depth of relationships within clients and across the industry, contributing to the visibility and impact of ADVI's brand Possesses significant experience analyzing federal and or state policy proposals, legislation, and/or regulation, and commercial health plan coverage policy, and conveying findings to clients or other stakeholders. Oversees the planning, execution, and delivery of consulting projects within timelines, project quality and budget expectations and demonstrates ability to prioritize workstreams under deadlines. Creates tailored solutions for clients incorporating current market trends, policy changes and industry expertise Meaningfully contributes to the culture, training and development of ADVI staff Demonstrates subject matter expertise, playing the role of trusted advisor - providing expert advice and guidance to clients and internal stakeholders Creates tailored solutions for clients incorporating current market trends, policy changes and industry expertise Is action-oriented, forward-looking, and strategic with strong sense of urgency and initiative to get things done by influencing and leading teams and building relationships in a team-oriented, collaborative atmosphere. Education
College degree. Advanced degree preferred; advanced degree may be substituted with work experience
Experience
At least 7+ years of relevant work experience, which could include employment by a molecular diagnostics lab/manufacturer, a health plan, relevant trade group, or advocacy organization, or a consulting business focused on or including reimbursement and coverage of precision medicine products and services, including complex molecular diagnostics tests. Significant and sustained project management experience that includes interacting with and presenting to senior-level executives and/or health policy leaders is a must.
Location
Candidates can be based anywhere in the U.S., with a preference for those operating in the Eastern or Central Standard Time Zone. Candidates based in Washington, DC or Austin, TX, will have the option of hybrid work arrangements.
Compensation And Benefits
The salary range is $150,000 - $200,000 with up to 20 percent bonus potential, depending on experience and qualifications. Exceptionally qualified candidates will be evaluated according to experience levels. Please include your salary requirements with your application if they exceed the posted range.
