Physician Services Market Director Location: Ottumwa, IA Agency: Virtus Healthcare Staffing Role Focus: Strategic Leadership, Operational Management, Physician Services Oversight Setting: Medical Facility / Healthcare Market Travel: Up to 10% overnight travel required Education: Bachelor's degree preferred; relevant experience considered Position Summary: Virtus Healthcare Staffing is seeking an experienced and dynamic Physician Services Market Director to lead departmental activities for our partner medical facility located in Ottumwa, IA . Our partner is committed to empowering and supporting a diverse workforce dedicated to driving quality, scalability, and significant positive impact across their healthcare services and the communities they serve. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and monitor departmental strategic goals, operational plans, and standards consistent with clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements and organizational objectives. Direct and continuously evaluate departmental operations, encompassing patient care delivery models, information technology integration, service level determination, and effective complaint management to achieve performance and quality control targets. Oversee and manage all aspects of departmental staffing, including needs assessment, hiring, onboarding, orientation, performance evaluation, disciplinary actions, and ongoing professional development initiatives. Prepare, monitor, and evaluate departmental budgets meticulously, ensuring fiscal responsibility and operation within allocated funding parameters. Coordinate and direct internal and external audits, ensuring compliance and readiness. Ensure strict adherence to healthcare regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA) and organizational policies and procedures within the department. Foster effective communication and collaboration between physician services, administration, clinical staff, and external partners. Perform other related duties as assigned to contribute to the overall success of the organization. Qualifications and Skills: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. Significant applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience: Proven track record of leadership experience in healthcare management, physician practice management, or a closely related field. Knowledge of Business Office Standards and Recommended Practices is beneficial. Regulatory Acumen: Comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulatory and compliance landscape (including HIPAA). Skilled in the practical application of policies and procedures. Communication: Advanced communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) required. Ability to convey complex information clearly, resolve delicate situations effectively, persuade and motivate others, and interact confidently with senior management and diverse stakeholders. Analytical & Problem Solving: Strong business mathematical skills. Ability to analyze varied and complex situations, interpret data, and utilize knowledge, skills, and general precedent to solve problems effectively. Decision Making: Capacity for functional independent judgment, including setting goals and priorities for the functional area. Decisions significantly impact departmental management and operations. Computer Proficiency: Moderate computer skills, including frequent use of email, word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, and databases to support business objectives. Project Management: Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently, including task delegation, project oversight, and resource allocation. Confidentiality: Must be adept at accessing and handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity.
