Length of Service: Seasonal | Part Time | Temporary Position
Position Summary: This temporary role exists to support and implement the Mission of
Magnificat High School by contributing to student growth and development through
Performing Arts Department programming. This position provides creative leadership for
productions, collaborating with the Director of Performing Arts to shape the vision of each
production. The role contributes to casting, leading rehearsals, and guiding student
performers. The Artistic Director supports publicity efforts and works with faculty, staff
and students to deliver a mission-driven, high quality theater experience at Magnificat
High School.

Major Responsibilities:
? Collaborate with the Director of Performing Arts by attending pre-production and design
team meetings to align vision and production goals.
? Contribute to the casting process by attending auditions and callbacks and offering artistic
input.
? Provide artistic direction by attending production meetings and helping to shape the
creative vision of the performance.
? Lead rehearsals in collaboration with the Director of Performing Arts, providing clear
artistic guidance and coaching to student performers.
? Coordinate with the design team to ensure artistic elements (set, lighting, costumes and
sound) align with the overall vision of the production.
? Direct and lead final dress and technical rehearsals, ensuring readiness for performance.
? Support school and community engagement by participating in publicity efforts, interviews
and discussions as needed.
? Work collaboratively with faculty, staff and students to support a successful production.
? Uphold Magnificat’s Mission, philosophy and policies.

? Completes other duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:
? Prior professional experience contributing to musical theater productions, preferably in a
scholastic or community setting.
? Strong organizational and communication skills.
Work Environment:
? Requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
? Work performed primarily in rehearsal and theater/stage settings.
? Frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders and moving between performance
spaces; extended periods of standing or sitting; occasional bending, reaching.
? Exposure to stage lighting, sound equipment, theatrical effects.
? Occasional work in dim or darkened lighting conditions.
? Ability to lift and carry up to 25-50lbs.
? Manual dexterity for handling instruments, equipment or technology controls.
? Requires ability to maintain professionalism in a fast-paced setting with multiple deadlines
and simultaneous activities.
