Troon Corporate office in Scottsdale, AZ is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of Payroll Director. The Payroll Director is responsible for all aspects of the payroll operation to include oversite of the payroll team, accurate and timely processing of payroll, reporting and tax filings. This is position is based in Scottsdale, AZ and reports to the Vice President, Shared Services.
Key Responsibilities of the Payroll Director: Directs all aspects of payroll processing for company’s 30,000 employees who are located at various locations worldwide
Designs short and long-term strategies for continuous improvements in the Company’s global payroll operations
Leads the payroll team with an emphasis on developing team members, establishing objectives and overseeing work efforts to accomplish identified business goals/objectives and to support the employees’ career success/development
Ensures key stakeholders are apprised to any changes in payroll related laws and regulations.
Manages relationships with both internal and external customers, including but not limited to, Field General Managers, Vice Presidents of Operations, Finance, external auditors, and state and federal agencies.
Collaborates with members of the Human Resources and Business Systems teams to drive operational excellence
Establishes and maintains department goals through the creation and monitoring of reports and key performance indicators Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences: Thorough understanding of all aspects of payroll processing
In-depth knowledge of all payroll state and federal regulations
Proficiency with UKG (preferred) and/or payroll modules of tier one HRIS systems
Experience performing payroll integrations from mergers and acquisitions
Prior payroll data analysis and reporting experience. Analysis and deductive reasoning skills
Knowledge of accounting & financial payroll terms and analysis
Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
Strong analytical/problem solving and process management skills Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years related HR/payroll experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Four to six years prior leadership experience Certificates/Licenses: Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Senior/Professional in Human Resources (SPHR/PHR) preferred
