Location: Highlands Ranch/Castle Pines, Colorado (metro Denver)
Hours: 15–18 hours per week (20–24 hours mid-October through mid-December)
Compensation: $18–20/hour
About Outreach Uganda
Founded in 2007, Outreach Uganda is a small but growing nonprofit with a big vision: empowering Ugandan women and children to overcome poverty through education, training, income generation, and community development. Our programs include a primary school, a community clinic serving 5,000 people, and a homebuilding initiative for 40 women.
We are seeking a mission-driven Assistant Executive Director to replace our outgoing staff member and strengthen our Colorado operations. This role reports directly to the President and works alongside a part-time administrative/fulfillment employee.
What You’ll Do
Your primary responsibility will be fundraising and donor relations —helping Outreach Uganda grow through cultivating new donors, building funding partnerships, and deepening relationships with existing supporters.
Community outreach & fundraising: represent OU in the Denver metro; identify new giving and partnership opportunities; steward sponsors/donors.
Volunteer coordination: recruit, train, and motivate volunteers.
Marketing & communications: create newsletter content, coordinate with social media staff/volunteers, and update our database and WordPress site.
Programs & operations: tag/organize products for sales and holiday craft fairs including setting up tables/displays at multiple craft fair locations within metro Denver; assist with wholesale shipping coordination; assist with child sponsorship forms and files.
Events & networking: attend a weekly networking meeting (Wednesdays 7:30–9:00 a.m. near I-25 & Dry Creek) and participating in 2 to 3 weekend craft fairs in November and early December.
What We’re Looking For
Strong experience or preference toward fundraising (not strictly required, but highly valued).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in the nonprofit sector and/or small business .
Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision.
Strong leadership and organizational skills ; calm when juggling priorities and deadlines.
Experience working with donors (comfortable asking for donations/assistance) and volunteers .
Ability to work effectively in person and virtually ; collaborative, flexible, and open to diverse stakeholders.
Microsoft Office , cloud tools, and WordPress familiarity.
Ability to mediate conflict and reach accepted solutions.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred ; background check required .
Schedule is flexible Mon–Fri but should be consistent week to week .

Flexible schedule (with consistent weekly cadence) + one day per week can be remote (optional)
Pro-rated Paid sick leave (½ day/month, up to 5 days/year; no carryover)
Pro-rated Paid holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, July 4, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas
PTO: Years 1–4: After first six months, accrues 1 day/month (up to 10 days/year); Year 5+: 1.5 days/month (up to 15 days/year); prorated to part-time hours
