Position Summary

The Partnership Director leads the agency’s mentor recruitment strategy and community engagement efforts to build a strong and diverse pipeline of volunteer Bigs. This role oversees the Partnership team, providing coaching, supervision, and strategic direction as staff cultivate relationships with corporations, schools, civic groups, and community organizations.

The Director strengthens BBBS’s community presence, drives targeted recruitment initiatives, and partners closely with Program and Marketing teams to ensure seamless volunteer onboarding and high-quality service delivery. Through strategic partnerships, data-informed outreach, and consistent staff support, the Partnership Director helps create the conditions for impactful, long-lasting Matches that advance the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the agency’s mentor recruitment strategy and execution across the service area.
  • Build and steward strategic community partnerships with corporations, schools, civic groups, and community leaders.
  • Supervise and coach Partnership Managers to support effective outreach, intentional relationship-building, and achievement of recruitment goals.
  • Collaborate with Program teams to ensure smooth handoff from recruitment through enrollment, maintaining BBBSA Standards of Practice and youth safety.
  • Develop localized recruitment plans using data insights and community needs.
  • Represent BBBS at outreach events, presentations, and community activities to strengthen visibility and encourage volunteer interest.
  • Partner with Marketing on targeted recruitment campaigns and audience-specific strategies.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and timely submission of partnership, agency, and grant-related documentation.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings to align strategies, troubleshooting challenges, and share best practices while fostering a collaborative, solutions-focused culture.
  • Complete annual youth protection training.
  • Actively support the agency’s mission and uphold a commitment to child safety.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the organization.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
  • Staff management experience (required).
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field (required).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills; public speaking experience preferred.
  • High-level proficiency in applying child safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license (required).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
