We invite you to join the Hexcel team at various manufacturing sites, sales offices and R&T centers around the globe.Become a part of the “strength within.” Hexcel is currently seeking an Operations Director to be located in any of our USA Hexcel location – Amesbury, MA; Burlington, WA; Casa Grande, AZ; Decatur, AL; Kent, WA; Pottsville, PA; Seguin, TX; or Salt Lake City, UT. The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations: Lead efforts to provide world-class environmental, health, and safety performance and advance sustainability initiatives to meet corporate targets.
Lead operations to produce materials upwards of $200M in annual revenue, approximately 500 people, and a capital expenditure budget of up to $13M.
Responsible for timely customer delivery of high-quality products.
Achieve labor, material, and fixed cost targets to control costs, cash, and maximize variable and gross margins targets as well as inventory and CAPEX plans.
Plans and executes actions to drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and improve customer responsiveness significantly.
Recruit, develop and fostering a high-performance culture while maximizing employee engagement and satisfaction that delivers customer satisfaction through outstanding KPI results.
Develop comprehensive succession plans and career development actions to ensure the long-term continuity of the business.
Actively and constructively represents operations in business discussions/decisions and collaborates with Marketing, Sales, Finance, Quality, Supply Chain, Purchasing, R&T, etc.
Reviews and approves headcount, CAPEX, and operational plans of sites to deliver business objectives.
Represent Hexcel to customers and suppliers in operations-related matters.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a related field required; MBA preferred, with at least 10 years of progressive manufacturing leadership including Plant Manager or Site Leader roles.
Demonstrated success in leading teams, managing people, and implementing strategic plans.
Proficient in budget oversight, cost control, and leveraging manufacturing technology and automation.
Deep understanding of production operations, supply chain logistics, and quality control systems.
Strong background in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices such as Six Sigma and Kaizen.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with clear written and verbal communication.
Flexible and responsive to evolving market conditions and operational demands.
Experienced in regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and project management.
Must be eligible for a DOD Security Clearance and willing to travel up to 50%.
