Role Overview As Nursing Director for the NICU, you will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight to ensure high-quality, safe, and compassionate nursing care. This role involves coordinating staffing, evaluating nursing practices, managing resources, and fostering staff competency across the neonatal unit. You will work closely with executive leadership to align nursing services with organizational goals. Key Responsibilities Lead and support NICU nursing staff in delivering exceptional care and maintaining clinical excellence
Collaborate with the Chief Nursing Officer and hospital leadership to assess, plan, and implement nursing policies and procedures
Oversee day-to-day operations, staffing, and resource management within the NICU
Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to hospital standards for patient safety and quality
Promote professional development and competency for nursing personnel
Serve as a role model and advocate for nursing practice and patient care standards
Participate in budget planning and operational decision-making related to nursing services
Maintain active communication with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families
Job Requirements Current, active Registered Nurse license in Texas required Associate degree in nursing with a bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field required; Master's degree (MSN or related) preferred Minimum 2 years of progressive nursing management experience in a hospital environment, preferably in critical care or NICU settings American Heart Association BLS certification required Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Commitment to fostering a collaborative and patient-centered nursing culture
