Nonprofit advocate and social change strategist JOB SUMMARY
The Hawaiʻi Alliance of Nonprofit Organizations (HANO) is seeking a full-time Nonprofit Resources Director to spearhead HANO’s efforts to serve as a resource hub for nonprofits in Hawaiʻi. This newly created position combines strategic program development with operational management to lead the development and implementation of HANO’s nonprofit service delivery model—whether through digital platforms, concierge-style services, or hybrid approaches. This role balances strategic leadership with hands-on implementation, ensuring the hub delivers high-quality, accessible resources that strengthen the nonprofit sector's capacity at a crucial moment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Program Leadership
Develop and implement strategic plans for hub service delivery model and program expansion.
Design the optimal approach for resource delivery (digital platform, concierge service, or hybrid model).
Lead content and service strategy development across resource areas.
Identify emerging trends and opportunities to enhance hub services and delivery methods.
Collaborate with VP of Nonprofit Resources on long-term vision while driving tactical execution and model development.
Represent the hub at sector events and with key nonprofit stakeholders.
Operations & Resource Management
Design and implement the hub's service delivery model based on nonprofit needs assessment(s).
Lead daily operations of hub service delivery.
Lead resource curation and delivery strategy whether through digital, personal, or hybrid approaches.
Develop systems for resource organization, access, and distribution that maximize user experience.
Drive service enhancements and delivery improvements based on user feedback and sector trends.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with a network of consultants and service providers.
Design and oversee confidential intake and assessment processes for organizations.
Provide strategic consultation to nonprofits seeking assistance and coordinate referrals to appropriate resources and experts.
Training and Learning Events Integration
Direct integration between training programs and resource hub delivery system for maximum impact.
Provide strategic direction and supervision to the Learning Events Manager in training and learning events development and delivery.
Collaborate with the Learning Events Manager to ensure training programs align with overall hub strategy and identified nonprofit needs.
Review and approve training program budgets and resource allocation.
Evaluate training program effectiveness and guide continuous improvement efforts.
Data Analysis & Strategic Reporting
Lead data collection and analysis efforts to measure program impact and inform service delivery decisions, and develop and monitor key performance indicators for all hub activities and service methods.
Prepare reports on service utilization, nonprofit outcomes, and training effectiveness.
Collaborate with VP of Nonprofit Resources on strategic planning and provide analytical support for funder reporting.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS 5+ years of demonstrated experience in nonprofit sector leadership or management; experience serving as senior management in a nonprofit organization is preferred.
Thorough knowledge of nonprofit management, structure, and challenges, including nonprofit business models and financial acumen.
Strong data analysis, research skills, and experience using databases and web tools.
Supervisory experience providing leadership, coaching, and professional development support to direct reports.
Experience working among diverse groups with varying perspectives and/or facilitating challenging conversations.
Clear and concise communicator—ability to prioritize, clarify and communicate ideas simply, succinctly and accurately with attention to detail.
Ability to self-start and self-direct.
Creative, adaptive problem-solving ability and willingness to innovate and test new ideas and embrace unfamiliar topics and projects.
Ability to navigate ambiguity with patience, professionalism, and a solutions-focused mindset.
Extremely detail-oriented and thorough, with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and follow through to completion of assigned projects.
Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities and thrive in a fast-changing environment.
Willingness to participate, share thoughts and perspectives in open team conversations and to ask for help when needed.

COMPENSATION Salary range: $75,000-$95,000/year. Compensation will be dependent on experience that will be discussed and vetted throughout the interview process.
