Job Description
Salary: $106,640 – $123,500 annually
The Denver-Based National Director, Entertainment & Programming (Activities), will be responsible for providing strategic direction across all Spectrum Retirement Communities locations in leading Activities, Entertainment, and Programming. This role addresses the physical, social, spiritual, emotional, cognitive, and leisure needs of our residents. It partners with all Regional Directors and the SVP, Operations to implement departmental initiatives in the communities.
Main Responsibilities include:
Reviewing monthly program calendars and signature events to create an engaging environment for residents and families. Assessing communities to meet programming standards and communicating concerns or trends to the Regional Director of Operations (RDO).
Continuously improving and updating the department’s Policies and Guidelines Manual and standards of performance in collaboration with RDOs.
Collaborating with Corporate Resident Care leadership to ensure assisted living and memory care programs align with clinical goals.
Creating a grading system to evaluate community performance based on resident engagement, satisfaction, and retention data.
Reporting department health to the corporate executive leadership team and collaborating on various projects and goals.
Evaluating current software and vendors for efficiency, negotiating contracts to ensure value.
Reviewing financials to assess expenses, working with RDOs to address opportunities, and reviewing budgets and forecasts quarterly.
Developing a best practices toolbox with successful programming events for community use.
Overseeing transportation to ensure policy adherence.
Interpreting data insights to develop metrics and strategies for growth aligned with organizational goals.
Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you should have:
A High School Diploma; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience managing entertainment and programming for multi-unit hospitality organizations (e.g., hotel, restaurant, entertainment, senior living).
At least 3 years of dispersed leadership experience preferred.
At least 5 years of successful experience in Entertainment and Programming.
Regional or multi-community management experience preferred.
A genuine interest and knowledge of seniors and their needs, with the ability to meet those needs consistently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven leadership ability and success in managing teams.
Ability to travel at least 70% nationally.
