Weekend and evening availability with flexible schedule is required.

Provides excellent service to customers who place a bet in Race wagering as well as the Sports Book operations. Ensure that all customers understand the various type of wagers, displays patience with novice customers, and engages in friendly conversations with all customers. Processes all cash transactions quickly and accurately.

How You Will Create the Extraordinary

1. Greets customers; inputs betting information into computer; prints ticket; accepts money and gives ticket and change to customers.
2. Accurately maintains bank.
3. Verifies winning tickets.
4. Handles and solves any concerns and questions by customers.
5. Explains wagering information when needed.
6. Maintains and updates Betting Boards or Televisions for customers to view.
7. Understands pari-mutuel wagering including reading tickets sold, tote keyboard and basic racing terminology
8. Provide customers with a list of scratches for tracks or results for races
9. Cash/sell vouchers
10. Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adheres to regulatory, departmental and company policies.
11. Cash/Cancel tickets as necessary
12. Performs the duties as assigned of a Mutuel Teller and Sportsbook Writer.

• Sports enthusiast with an interest in horse racing and sports activities.
• Mathematically inclined and the ability to pass a math test.
• Demonstrated ability of good handwriting skills

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Must qualify for, obtain, and maintain a gaming license from the Indiana Gaming Commission. Must qualify for obtain and maintain a License from the Indiana Horse Racing Commission.

Physical Demands: Must be able to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time (minimum 4-6 hours). Must be able to maneuver throughout all areas of the property and from floor to floor either by stairways (minimum of 20 steps) or escalator. Responds to visual and aural cues. Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment. Must be able to tolerate areas containing second-hand smoke, dust, loud noises, and bright lights. Must be able to work varied shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
