Job Overview

HCA Healthcare is seeking to recruit an experienced PM&R physician for a medical director opportunity in the city of Corpus Christi. This is a medical director opportunity for a newly recruited physician to oversee a 15 bed in-patient unit. Outpatient work is a possibility if the new recruit wishes to operate a clinic in addition to the main responsibilities to the rehab unit. The physician recruit must have at least 2 years of experience in a rehab unit. Current census of the rehab unit is currently between 12 - 13 patients of the 15 bed unit. The ideal candidate will have good communication skills, bedside manner, and be an interdisciplinary team player. The Medical Director's primary function is to serve as the liaison officer between administration and the medical staff. Duties include the weekly participation in the ongoing development and management of a master care plan for all patients which covers medical care, including a plan for discharge. Provide hospital representation for the facility in the community, not limited to providing educational presentations and serving on community boards. Assist with providing in-service training for other physicians, rehabilitation staff, other identified hospital staff, rehab patients, and families. Paid Medical Directorship. Ability to be employed locally, or work as a contractor with a third party physiatry group.
