The Medical Director manages the staff and operation of a clinic or group of clinics at Denver Health in collaboration with other Medical Directors and Department Chairs. It includes direct supervision of physicians and advanced practice providers within assigned clinics. The position works closely with clinic leadership to ensure smooth daily operations and is responsible for monitoring clinical performance, ensuring productivity, and leading quality improvement initiatives. Additionally, the role includes performing approved direct patient care, coordination with specialists and medical procedures. FTE allocated to this position depends on number of yearly visits and overall budget. Knowledge and interest in multi-disciplinary ambulatory care, ability to work in teams and motivate physicians and other providers to improve quality, patient experience and operational efficiency. Communicate effectively with a wide variety of staff as well as administration. Possess critical thinking, analytical and teaching/coaching skills. Able to effectively manage and direct medical staff while providing quality medical care Able to analyze, interpret and act upon relevant clinical, financial and quality improvement data that pertain to the practice.
