Our client, a leading provider of specialized services for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in New Jersey, is hiring a Medical Director, Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Physician to lead and oversee medical operations across multiple residential and day programs. As a key executive role, the Medical Director will ensure the delivery of exceptional, compassionate care that aligns with the organization’s mission to promote independence, growth, and dignity for clients.

The successful candidate will serve as the medical advocate for clients, interfacing with hospitals, and will have the autonomy to assess support needs, including staffing and on-call procedures.
Responsibilities:
Lead medical services across residential homes, including a state-of-the-art facility Oversee medical protocols, documentation, and compliance in accordance with state and federal regulations. Act as the primary medical contact for hospital admissions, emergencies, and urgent care. Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures to improve patient outcomes. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including nursing staff, therapists, and administrators. Assess and arrange appropriate medical staffing, support, and on-call schedules, including support for weekend and after-hours coverage. Provide guidance on treatment plans and coordinate with external healthcare providers as needed.
Requirements:
Board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. Proven leadership experience in a healthcare setting, preferably with expertise in serving individuals with disabilities or complex medical needs. Strong knowledge of clinical protocols, compliance standards, and hospital procedures. Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams. Ability to manage medical emergencies and develop effective on-call support structures.
