Job Description
Lead Boldly. Care Deeply. Transform Community Health.
At Prisma Community Care, we believe that compassionate, evidence-based healthcare transforms lives. We’re a mission-driven, patient-centered organization expanding access to affirming, high-quality medical care for 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, individuals living with or at risk for HIV, and anyone seeking inclusive, primary and preventive care.
The title for this position will be determined based on the candidate’s credentials. Licensed MDs and DOs will hold the title Medical Director – Clinical Services & Education, while Advanced Practice Providers (NPs or PAs) will hold the title Director of Clinical Services & Education. The scope of clinical practice and leadership responsibilities will align accordingly with licensure and state regulations.
We’re seeking a visionary clinical leader to shape the next chapter of Prisma’s excellence in care, education, and community health. This position combines direct patient care with strategic oversight of clinical operations, education, and provider development —advancing clinical quality and health equity across the organization.
What You’ll Do:
Provide Direct Care
- Deliver compassionate, evidence-based care in primary medicine, HIV/STI prevention and treatment, PrEP/PEP, gender-affirming care, and sexual/reproductive health.
- Provide direct care to Prisma’s more complex and higher-acuity patients, ensuring affirming, trauma-informed, and patient-centered treatment.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary care team to maintain quality and continuity across services.
Lead & Educate
- Oversee Prisma’s clinical education programs, mentoring providers, students, and trainees.
- Design and implement training initiatives that promote cultural humility, harm reduction, and clinical excellence.
- Build partnerships with universities, residency programs, and professional organizations to expand Prisma’s educational reach.
Supervise and Support Providers
- Provide clinical oversight and mentorship to Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and Physician Assistants (PAs).
- If licensed as an MD or DO, serve as the clinical supervisor of record for Advanced Practice Providers, ensuring compliance with state and organizational standards.
- Scope of responsibility and supervisory duties will be determined based on licensure and credentials in accordance with state requirements and organizational structure.
- Partner with the Director of Clinic Operations to establish consistent supervision frameworks and provider development pathways.
Shape Clinical Strategy
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align all clinical services with Prisma’s mission and health equity goals.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives, chart reviews, and best-practice coaching.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and accreditation standards, maintaining Prisma’s reputation for excellence.
Represent & Inspire
- Serve as a visible ambassador for Prisma’s mission—building relationships with academic, clinical, and community partners.
- Represent Prisma Community Care at conferences, panels, and national forums on inclusive and community-based healthcare.
What We Offer
- A mission-driven organization centered on affirmation, inclusion, and health equity.
- A supportive interdisciplinary team including medical, behavioral health, and community wellness professionals.
- Opportunities for clinical innovation, research collaboration, and teaching partnerships.
- Competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, and professional development support.
- Modest relocation support is available to help ease your transition to Arizona and join the Prisma Community Care team.

- Physician Assistant (PA-C)
- Medical Doctor (MD)
- Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Hold a current, valid Arizona license in your respective discipline and maintain an active, unrestricted DEA registration (or ability to obtain one prior to starting employment).
- If licensed as an MD or DO, you have experience or willingness to serve as clinical supervisor for Advanced Practice Providers (NPs and PAs), fostering a supportive, high-accountability environment.
- At least 2 years of clinical experience in primary care, internal medicine, HIV medicine, sexual/reproductive health, or gender-affirming care.
