About the Role

The Company is seeking a Family Support Liaison to provide essential outreach and support to families in Maryland with children who are newly identified as Deaf or Hard of Hearing. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that these families are well-informed about available resources, services, and support networks. This includes engaging with families to facilitate connections to early intervention services, offering guidance on navigating the early intervention and IEP system, and providing ongoing support to ensure a smooth transition as children approach age three. The role requires a strong understanding of Deaf Culture, the ability to work with ASL interpreters, and familiarity with Maryland's early intervention and education systems.

Key responsibilities for the Family Support Liaison include initiating contact with families, providing information on resources, and maintaining regular engagement to address questions and concerns. The position also involves collaboration with the Executive Director to align family support efforts with organizational goals and participation in relevant conferences and meetings. The ideal candidate will have experience working with families of children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently in a remote setting with a flexible schedule.
