Overview

We are working with an established, highly successful CRE investment firm seeking a Managing Director of Asset Management to oversee the operational and financial performance of the firm’s multibillion-dollar portfolio of diversified real estate holdings across the US. The portfolio includes office, mixed-use, life sciences/R&D, light industrial, and multifamily properties, Class A, with a concentration in the Pacific Northwest.

While this role will primarily focus on asset management, the candidate will also handle general portfolio management, strategic planning, and investments, and will regularly present performance improvement and transaction recommendations to the executive leadership team and the Investment Committee.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operational and financial performance of a multi‑billion-dollar diversified real estate portfolio across all product types (office, mixed-use, life sciences/R&D, light industrial, multifamily), Class A, concentrated in the Pacific Northwest.
  • Lead asset management activities, with additional responsibilities in general portfolio management, strategic planning, and investments.
  • Regularly present performance improvement opportunities and transaction recommendations to the executive leadership team and the Investment Committee.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to drive portfolio strategy, capital allocation, and value creation across properties and the portfolio.

Qualifications

  • 15–20 years of direct asset management experience with a large CRE owner/operator, asset manager, or PE firm; institutional experience across product types is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Experience implementing or overseeing strategy at both property and portfolio levels, with the ability to identify opportunities for performance improvement.
  • Experience conducting deep financial and operational analysis for a CRE portfolio, comparing against historical performance.
  • Experience participating in transactions, interfacing with investor relations, and working at the fund level.
