Who We Are Looking For We are seeking a bright, driven, organized, and detail‑oriented individual with an exceptional work ethic and passion for the world of business. In this role, you will work with Fortune 500 companies across multiple industries, including real estate, healthcare, energy, tech, CPG, and private equity. The pace is fast, with opportunity to learn in one year at Medvec & Associates what typically takes three years in other professional services firms through exposure to Dr. Medvec’s sessions, training, consulting, and MBA classes.
In addition to working directly with Dr. Medvec, the Managing Director will support the Senior Principals of the firm, composed of accomplished professionals from varying industries.
This is a one‑year contract position that requires availability of at least 40 hours per week, with the ability to extend the commitment after one year. While most of the work is completed virtually, travel for workshops and meetings will be required.
Managing Director Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Research and Presentation Development: Manage in‑depth research on clients and develop initial business development decks for client meetings.
Proposal Development: Create proposals based on information gathered in business development calls and secondary research.
Client Management: Sell sessions, confirm session details, enhance session customization, and build client relationships. Attend on‑site sessions when possible.
Client Consulting: Join client calls and sessions to provide consulting as experience grows.
Presentation Development: Create customized slide decks for client sessions, updating content and design as appropriate.
Presentation Setup: Attend client presentations and engagements, travel with Dr. Medvec or a Senior Principal to ensure smooth delivery, including technical and room setup and problem solving.
Sales Cycle and Database Management: Record information into the company’s CRM and maintain up‑to‑date records.
Project Management: Oversee operations and delivery of engagements.
Reporting: Track client engagement time and ensure proper billing for clients.
Managing Director Qualifications & Competencies
MBA and at least 5‑8 years of pre‑MBA experience in a professional work environment.
Experience in a professional services/consulting firm preferred.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Time‑management: ability to meet deadlines while maintaining high levels of energy, professionalism, and quality in the work product; manage multiple demands and demonstrate comfort with ambiguity.
Understanding of the challenges and opportunities our clients face in business transformation and the ability to provide strategic insights.
Learning orientation: commitment to ongoing personal development.
Ability to work independently while being highly collaborative with clients and the Medvec team.
Technical proficiency: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Docs and Google Slides; familiarity with CRM/database management or ability to learn.
