Responsibilities Responsibility for the general maintenance and repair of an assisted living community, striving to secure the lowest-cost solutions to maintenance problems. Supervision of maintenance and housekeeping staff to ensure the community is properly maintained. Providing leadership, training, and development of assigned staff members. Implementing the community Injury and Illness Prevention Program. Coordinating the Hazcom Program. Performing safety audits, checklists, and emergency drills. Qualifications and Requirements Knowledge of, and ability to learn, the theory and practice of facilities and operations systems management in an assisted living and dementia care community. Skilled at building relationships with residents and staff members. Ability to maintain resident confidentiality. Knowledge of, and ability to learn, federal, state, and local regulations. Knowledge of management and accounting. Ability to meet budgets and control costs. Proficiency with computers, internet, and software applications including Word and Excel. Must meet all health requirements, including acceptable TB test results.
