This is an opportunity to step into a leadership position within a respected global advisory firm, advising on high-profile M&A transactions and shaping the strategic direction of the tax practice. You will be at the forefront of complex cross-border deals, providing technical expertise, commercial insight, and leadership across the US and wider markets.
The Opportunity
As M&A Tax Director, you will take ownership of key client relationships, lead on tax aspects of major domestic and international transactions and play a key role in driving business development. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders across corporate finance, private equity, and legal teams to deliver comprehensive, commercially focused solutions to clients.
This role offers exposure to high-profile deals, career progression, and the opportunity to play a central role in the growth of the M&A tax practice.
Key Responsibilities
Lead tax structuring and advisory work on complex M&A transactions across the US.
Advise multinational corporations, private equity funds, and investors on deal structuring, due diligence, and post-deal integration.
Build and manage senior-level client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on all M&A tax matters.
Drive business development, winning new client engagements and expanding existing accounts.
Lead and mentor a high-performing team, ensuring technical excellence and professional development.
Collaborate with colleagues across corporate finance, legal, and international tax teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
About You
Professional qualification in tax, law, or accounting (e.g. ACA, CTA, CPA.
Significant experience in M&A tax within Big 4, top-tier advisory, or major law firm.
Strong technical expertise in M&A tax structuring, due diligence, and cross-border transactions.
Proven track record of developing and managing senior client relationships.
Strong commercial acumen and demonstrable business development skills.
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
