Members of the Living Waters Park Board of Directors serve as key leaders and advocates, helping to guide the strategic direction and ensure the success of the organization. Board members play a critical role in advancing the park’s mission to foster community engagement, education, and appreciation of nature. They provide oversight, support fundraising efforts, and act as ambassadors for Living Waters Park within the community.
Key Responsibilities: Strategic Oversight:
Contribute to the development and implementation of the park’s strategic goals and objectives.
Monitor the organization’s performance to ensure alignment with its mission and vision.
Governance and Compliance:
Ensure compliance with organizational bylaws, policies, and applicable laws and regulations.
Participate in Board discussions and decision-making to uphold good governance practices.
Fundraising and Advocacy:
Support fundraising initiatives by making personal contributions and assisting in donor outreach.
Actively advocate for the park by building relationships with stakeholders, partners, and the community.
Community Engagement:
Serve as an ambassador for Living Waters Park, promoting its programs, events, and impact.
Participate in events and activities to engage with the community and represent the organization.
Commitment and Participation:
Attend and actively participate in Board meetings and committee work.
Review meeting materials, contribute to discussions, and fulfill assigned responsibilities.
Qualifications: Passion for the mission and vision of Living Waters Park.
Experience or expertise in areas such as nonprofit management, fundraising, community engagement, finance, or environmental stewardship.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Willingness to commit time, energy, and resources to support the park’s goals.
Time Commitment: Board members are expected to attend regular meetings, serve on committees, participate in events, and contribute approximately 5-10 hours per month to Board activities.
