Job Description
We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Long-Term Substitute Band Director to teach in our music department while our regular Band Director is on leave. The substitute will lead our band program for grades 5-12, following established lesson plans and upholding our Regent's mission. This role includes overseeing spring concerts and competitions. The ideal candidate will support a respectful and Christ-centered classroom culture, fostering students' growth both personally and spiritually.
PRINCIPLES FOR CONDUCTING WORK
The Substitute Band Director will serve as a Christian role model, embodying the highest standards of Christian virtue, judgment, dignity, and respect, both in and out of the classroom. The candidate should demonstrate a commitment to Christian living and serve as a positive example to students, parents, and fellow employees, fostering an environment that aligns with the mission of Regents.
Key Responsibilities:Instruction and Rehearsal: Deliver band instruction and facilitate rehearsals for all grade levels, executing lesson plans left by the Band Director and ensuring continuity of instruction.
Event Preparation: Prepare students for end-of-year performances, trips, and service projects
Spirit Band Coordination: Lead and coordinate the Spirit Band for the fall season, including music selection and practice to ensure performance readiness.
Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with Fine Arts administration, music department, and faculty.
Parent and Community Engagement: Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress, upcoming events, and participation requirements.
Skills and Educational Requirements:
Must be a Christian
Bachelor's Degree preferred; college students are welcome to apply
Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications
Prior teaching or classroom experience preferred
