The Medical Director will be responsible for the delivery of participant care and clinical outcomes. Oversight of the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program is a key responsibility. The Medical Director will develop and maintain medical policies, procedures, standards, and protocols. Direction and supervision will be provided to Primary Care Providers and Advanced Practice Providers. General responsibilities include conducting history and physical assessments on new participants. The Medical Director will develop medical treatment plans and provide medically necessary services. Evaluation of applicants and their caregivers for program enrollment is required. Discussions with participants and caregivers regarding medical conditions and future care planning are essential. The Medical Director will collaborate in the nursing treatment program for participants. Participation in interdisciplinary team meetings and family conferences is expected. Education and guidance for participants and families regarding health maintenance and chronic conditions will be provided. The Medical Director will supervise health care and treatment programs developed by the interdisciplinary team. Physical examinations, ordering and evaluating laboratory and diagnostic tests, and recording results are essential functions. Participation in provider on-call rotation will be required.
