Position Overview: The Interim Finance Director will oversee the Finance Department, ensuring continuity in financial operations. You will manage a small team, coordinate with external resources, and maintain compliance, timeliness, and accuracy in all financial activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage daily accounting functions, including accounts payable, receivable, reconciliations, and month-end close.
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Supervise and support a small team, maintaining accuracy and compliance with governmental accounting standards.
Oversee fiscal year-end close and prepare for the annual audit.
Utilize Tyler Munis ERP, collaborating with experts to resolve accounting issues.
Act as the primary liaison with City leadership, HR, and external auditors.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CGFO preferred.
7–10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a governmental finance leadership role.
Strong knowledge of GAAP, fund accounting, and municipal finance operations.
Experience with Tyler Munis strongly preferred.
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
