Employment Status: Part time, non-exempt.
Duration: 4-6 months
Salary: $36.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday through Friday 8-4:30 daily, some flexible scheduling and evenings or weekends based on needs of organization.
Work Location: In office – Waite Park location
Summary
ConnectAbility of MN is seeking an Interim Executive Director who will serve as the Chief Executive Officer during our transitional period, providing stable leadership, someone who values relationships, communication, and serving others. The Interim Executive Director will steward our mission, lead with authenticity, and capitalize on our organization’s significant growth while continuing to provide services for people with barriers. The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the organization, as well as fiscal oversight, grants, and marketing. The Interim Executive Director ensures systems, support, and resources are in place for all team members to feel empowered and deliver high-quality services.
Key Responsibilities:
Transitional Organizational Leadership & Administration Conduct an objective assessment of the organization’s operations, finances, and programs, identify strengths, weaknesses, and area’s of improvement.
Provide overall leadership for daily operations and mission alignment.
Foster a reflective and supportive culture that values growth, well-being, and high-quality services. Direct and assist the Interim Human Resources leader in policy development, ensuring accountability and equity across the organization.
Board Engagement & Governance Partner with the Board of Directors to guide strategy, governance, and financial oversight. Provide transparent & consistent communication, support informed decision-making, and help cultivate a diverse, engaged, and effective team.
Financial Stewardship Conduct an objective assessment of the organization’s financial state. Ensure fiscal integrity through sound budgeting, financial management, and reporting. Identify and optimize revenue streams and sustain financial stability while maintaining access for clients.
Strategy & Impact Collaborate with leadership to ensure programs are evidence-based, culturally responsive, and community-informed. Streamline processes, oversee quality improvement, data collection, and strategic initiatives that enhance access and amplify community impact.
Program Development & Oversight Provide leadership and accountability for program design and delivery. Support and collaborate with the Senior Director, Directors, and Senior Managers to align services with agency goals, ensure legal and ethical compliance, and foster reflection and innovation across programs.
Qualifications & Expectations
· Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit leadership, finance, public administration, social services, or related field (equivalent experience considered).
· Demonstrated experience in nonprofit leadership, including staff supervision, fiscal management, and board relations.
· Strong fiscal and budget writing experience
· Commitment to equity, inclusion, and culturally responsive leadership.
· Excellent communication, relationship-building, and collaborative leadership skills.
· Strong communicator, mentor, and team-builder.
· Must pass a background check.
