The Inpatient Care Management Medical Director plays a vital role in managing acute level care and length of stay reviews for our members. Collaborate with a dedicated team of nurses and support staff to ensure high-quality inpatient care across our extensive network, which includes local and national commercial employers, Medicare, and state Medicaid programs. Key Responsibilities: Engage in telephonic outreach with treating providers to discuss evidence-based guidelines, identify clinical quality gaps, and make recommendations for care plan adjustments that can improve healthcare expenses. Work collaboratively with operational and business partners on clinical quality initiatives to meet customer expectations and enhance care delivery. Utilize evidence-based medicine principles, such as InterQual care guidelines, to support clinical decision-making. Occasionally participate in market oversight meetings alongside Chief Medical Officers and other internal stakeholders to align on direction and strategy. Maintain proficiency with required software and digital platforms to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in your role. Required Qualifications: MD or DO with an active, unrestricted medical license. Board Certification in an ABMS or AOBMS specialty. Minimum of 3 years of clinical practice experience post-residency. Access to a private home office and high-speed internet. Proficient in various computer software and systems. Preferred Qualifications: Licensure in HI, AK, OR, ID, WA, UT is a plus. 2 or more years of experience in managed care, Quality Management, or administrative leadership. Prior Utilization Management experience is preferred. Recent clinical experience within the past 2 years. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including performance incentives, stock purchase options, and a 401k plan (all benefits subject to eligibility). Our salary range for this position is $286,104 to $397,743 annually, based on experience and performance metrics.
