Summary : The Director, Diagnostic Imaging develops and influences the strategy, growth, operational oversight, and financial results of ThedaCare's diagnostic imaging department. Directs the work of radiology operations, including customer service and access, imaging test utilization, protocol management, turnaround time for testing and results, quality assurance activities, and radiation safety. Maintains and enhances interpersonal relationships with medical staff, team members, patients, and visitors.
Job Description:
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Provides strategic planning, program development, labor management, and overall operational administration of the department. Effectively directs team members in a manner consistent with ThedaCare policies and values. Ensures the recruitment and retention of competent team members to meet the needs of the business operations of the department. Oversees and ensures accuracy of time and attendance and payroll practices. Plans, organizes, and directs department activities. Develops goals and objectives, and establishes and implements policies and procedures for department operation. Develops and administers technical and clinical imaging standards and protocols for the delivery of medical imaging services in keeping with service, value, quality, cost, and access goals of ThedaCare. Directs ThedaCare policy/standards formulation and program planning to integrate/enhance the continuum of services available. Oversees the research and recommends the acquisition and implementation of new technology that supports imaging strategy and system initiatives. Evaluates and justifies equipment, supply needs, and purchases. Submits capital expenditure requests with justification by deadline. Ensures compliance with federal and state law and accrediting and licensing agencies as appropriate to department. Develops initiatives to identify, track, and monitor diagnostic imaging utilization and opportunities for cost savings, trend management, and/or quality improvement. Integrates department services with ThedaCare's primary functions. Coordinates with other departments/services in a manner that fosters a collaborative environment for teamwork within the department and with other departments/services. Collaborates on the strategic planning of major facilities construction/renovation projects to ensure the safe and effective placement of imaging equipment and efficiency of operations. Serves as a dyad partner with identified radiologists to advance clinical and service quality within imaging. QUALIFICATIONS: Master's degree in radiology, healthcare administration, business, or related field Eight years of progressive responsibility in a leadership position Five years of leadership experience to include leading teams and/or projects PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to move freely (standing, stooping, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling) and lift up to a maximum of twenty-five (25) pounds without assistance Job classification is exposed to blood borne pathogens (blood or bodily fluids) while performing job duties WORK ENVIRONMENT: Climate controlled office setting with daily movement throughout the facility Interaction with department members and other healthcare providers
