About the Team Brand Studio lays the foundations that help Stripe accelerate. We create, evolve, and maintain Stripe’s high-quality, versatile, and forward-looking brand design systems, experiences, and advertising campaigns. We sweat the details and strive to make complex work feel effortless.
What you’ll do Brand Studio Designers demonstrate a passion for storytelling and great design. They use design systems to tell compelling stories to a variety of audiences and are adept at expanding, evolving, defining, and documenting flexible design systems and experiences that achieve bar-raising quality and consistency for the brand at scale. They are user-focused, understand the business, and are empathetic and inspiring. The ideal candidate excels across a variety of styles, articulates design decisions clearly, iterates quickly, and collaborates with marketers, product managers, leaders, other designers, and agency partners.
Responsibilities Lead design direction on all of Stripe’s internal event experiences
Build beautiful and scalable approaches for brand experiences
Support and collaborate with the Experiential Creative Director, designers, event marketers, and cross-functional partners to serve a global audience
Oversee the work of external teams in creative strategy, execution, and production
Help shape the strategic vision and goals for the team and for what experiences means at Stripe
Inspire by mentoring designers and partners in best practices, design process, and ideation
Serve as an IC who can steward designers through large-scale design projects
Who you are / Minimum Requirements Have 8+ years of relevant design and art direction experience for technical and product-driven companies
Have a strong strategic acumen for building brand experiences in a fast-paced, global environment
Can design across a wide range of surface areas (Digital, Physical, Communication, Motion, etc.) and tooling (Figma, Keynote, Adobe Creative Cloud, AI tools like Midjourney, ChatGPT, etc.)
Are a systems-thinker who extends shared patterns and behaviors
Proven excellence in creative direction and building/extending design systems
Can express and communicate a brand through graphics, patterns, motion, interaction, and experiences
Are a hands-on maker able to communicate concepts, direction, and decisions with the team and external partners
Have a track record delivering work independently and through others, and influencing other teams
Balance speed, quality, and pixel-perfect execution
Are persuasive and humble in explaining work, process, and decisions; welcome feedback
Enjoy helping other designers learn and grow, and seek growth yourself
Have excellent organization and presentation skills, with strong written and verbal communication
Attention to detail with a user-first mindset; experience with data and insights
Hybrid work at Stripe This role is available either in an office or a remote location (35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).
In-office expectations : Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in their local office or with users to support collaboration and learning.
Working remotely at Stripe : A remote location is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from an office. You may come into the office for meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, but the expectation is to primarily work from home. Stripe does not cover relocation costs to a remote location.
Pay and benefits The annual US base salary range for this role is $206,900 - $310,300. Additional benefits may include equity, bonuses, 401(k), medical/dental/vision, and wellness stipends. For non-US locations, salary ranges can be requested during the interview process.
