Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Director of Business Development to join a Federal Program located on a hybrid schedule in Fairfax, VA. The Director of Business Development will lead federal health growth initiatives with a primary focus on the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Responsibilities of the Director of Business Development: Develop and execute strategic business development plans targeting FDA and CDC. Identify and qualify new business opportunities, including RFPs, RFIs, and other procurement vehicles. Build and maintain strong relationships withkey decision-makers and stakeholders within FDA and CDC. Lead capture efforts, including competitive analysis, win strategy development, and teaming. Collaborate with internal teams (capture, proposal, technical, and delivery) to shape and win new business. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings. Maintain a robust pipeline of opportunities and provide accurate forecasting and reporting to leadership. Travel regularly to client sites and agency locations for meetings, relationship building, and opportunity development Qualifications for the Director of Business Development: 10+ years of experience in federal business development, with a minimum of 3–5 years focused on FDA and/or CDC. Established relationships within FDA and/or CDC prior to this position. Proven trackrecord of winning contracts in the federal health space. Deep understanding of federal procurement processes and contracting vehicles. Strong network of contacts within FDA and/or CDC. Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Health, Life Sciences, or a related field.
