Versa-Tags is currently seeking a Human Resources Director/Manager to join our team!

This position has the capability to work a hybrid remote schedule once fully trained and independent; however, ad-hoc events/meetings/circumstances may arise that require an individual to be on-site when needed to achieve expected outcomes. It will be at the discretion of the HR Director/Manager to determine their location and overall schedule based on their desires as well as what will achieve the best outcome for the Company and for its team members on an ongoing basis.


Versa-Tags’ typical office hours are Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm, and the facility is open 6:30am-12:00am Monday-Thursday, 6:30am-5:00pm Friday.


What is a Versa-Tags Human Resources (HR) Director/Manager?

Versa-Tags' HR is currently a "Department of One", but it is growing to add a second team member to administer and support the department! Our HR Director/Manager will take ownership of all responsibilities that fall within the HR scope as well as for training, delegating, and supervising the HR Generalist. The ideal candidate for this position is professional, uses discretion and judgement with sensitive information, never settles for "good enough," and is highly motivated to make Versa-Tags and its employees Better Every Day.

What does your day look like?

Currently, our HR Department consists of one team member, but Versa-Tags is also seeking an HR Generalist that our HR Director/Manager will oversee. Day-to-Day responsibilities of each member of the department will be up to the determination HR Director/Manager. The HR Director/Manager will be responsible for understanding all processes to effectively train their new team member and provide insight, guidance, and support.

  • Lead the HR Department through team development, leadership within the HR department and throughout Versa-Tags, emphasizing the importance of continued learning and improvement.
  • Oversee, implement, and maintain all HR initiatives, systems and tactics; actively seeks new solutions that will improve the overall employee experience, HR efficiencies, and compliance requirements.
  • Design and implement the overall recruiting strategy. Identify, evaluate, and solve hiring challenges; Interview potential candidates and make recommendations, develop on-going improvements and recruiting training to all team members involved.
  • Create new and engaging employee content, including training and benefits videos/materials, recruiting materials, and employee training content.
  • Administer, implement, and fully understand employee benefits in order to answer questions and make recommendations for future benefits options.
  • Monitor adherence to internal policies and legal standards, including direct authority regarding Federal/State Labor Law, Manufacturing Safety, Workers Compensation, and all annual compliance filings.
  • Perform job and task analysis to document job requirements and objectives.
  • Oversee, maintain, and update Employee Knowledge Base and HR Helpdesk
  • Effectively manage grievances and violations, training leadership on effective employee coaching/counseling and disciplinary action.
  • Report to Vice President by analyzing data and using HR metrics to make educated recommendations for future projects, initiatives, policy/compliance changes
  • Anticipate and resolve litigation risks.
  • Monitor employee new hire training for efficacy and develop strategic goals to track and improve employee ongoing training needs, working with Supervisors and Leadership to develop effective, engaging, and trackable training goals/milestones.
  • Advocate for the Company, exhibiting the Qualities of the Company’s Way of Life.
  • Administer and improve HR functions, including payroll processing, records retention, benefits administration, etc. as needed
  • Use the utmost discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive documents or employee matters.


Requirements:

What skills can you bring to the table?

  • Minimum 3+ years working in a Human Resources leadership/strategic capacity, preferably within a manufacturing or similar environment; minimum 5+ years of total experience in the HR field
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, or a combination of education/experience
  • Constant drive to improve, identify and implement HR trends, streamline processes, update technology, and make the employee experience excellent and beyond expectations
  • Experience with training staff and improving leadership
  • Trained in labor law, required annual filings (5500, OSHA 300/301, EEOC, etc.)
  • Excellent knowledge of Human Capital Management and Applicant Tracking software; Knowledge of HCM system module build, maintenance, and updating
  • Amazing attention to detail, unwavering quality standards, and eye for catching errors
  • Knowledge of organizational compliance requirements
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and tact
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to make decisions and accomplish goals and tasks with minimal oversight and without error
