POSITION: Human Resources Director DEPARTMENT: Human Resources REPORTS TO: General Manager FLSA STATUS: Salaried/Exempt Overview The Human Resources Director partners with senior leaders and provides strategic advice on a wide variety of areas to maximize organizational effectiveness and performance. He/she develops and maintains strong partnerships with management and ensures HR strategies, processes and practices align with business needs. The Director provides expert advice, counsel, and coaching to senior leaders, managers, and employees (union and non-union) on employee-related issues including performance management, documentation, progressive discipline, career development, employee relations, policies and procedures, and employment/labor laws. The role proactively anticipates labor/employee relations issues and counsels to resolve them. The Director is also responsible for building bench strength through identification, recruitment, and development of top talent. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Labor (unions and third-party management) – Establish, negotiate and maintain long-term labor relations strategies that support business objectives, create an environment of trust, and ensure policies and processes meet legal obligations while minimizing risk. Compliance & Investigations – Prepare information for state and federal compliance; participate in grievance, arbitration, and contract negotiations; partner with General Counsel to investigate and respond to employment claims and agency claims (EEOC, DLSE, DOL, NLRB, etc.). Organizational Development – Develop talent to meet leadership needs; partner with business leads to identify training and development needs; create training curricula (customer service, safety, security, responsible alcohol policies) with operations leaders for event staff. Talent Management – Manage performance review processes; ensure awareness of organizational and individual priorities; support management recommendations for terminations; develop staffing and retention plans; attract, onboard, and retain a diverse, high-performing workforce; coordinate onboarding of seasonal staff with General Managers. Employee Relations – Act as employee advocate, considering employee impact in business decisions. Supervisory Responsibilities Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Legends Global policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, assigning, directing, appraising, rewarding, and disciplining employees, and resolving problems. QualificationsEducation And/Or Experience Bachelor’s degree required with a minimum of seven years of HR experience, preferably in a high-volume environment. Experience in a union work environment required. Skills And Abilities Employee relations experience, including investigations and grievance resolution. Strong leadership, multi-project management, influencing, and credibility across all levels of staff, management, union representatives, and clients. Detail-oriented, highly organized, fast learner with program proficiency. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, business acumen, discretion with confidential information. High energy, detail-focused, and flexible with extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
