Location: Berkeley Area - Hybrid Compensation: $135,000 - $175,000 We are conducting a search for a Director of Human Resources to lead all aspects of HR strategy and operations for a mission-driven organization. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, this role will shape a people-first culture, drive talent initiatives, and ensure compliance across all HR functions. What Youll Do: Lead and mentor the HR and recruitment team. Oversee recruiting, onboarding, performance management, training, compensation, and benefits. Serve as a trusted advisor for employee relations, investigations, and workplace issues. Develop HR policies and programs that enhance engagement, performance, and retention. Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts. Manage compliance with all employment laws and HR best practices. What You Bring: Bachelors degree preferred; senior HR certification a plus. 10+ years progressive HR experience, 5+ years in leadership roles. Proven ability to build culture, lead change, and drive high performance. Strong knowledge of HRIS, ATS, and performance management systems. Excellent communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills. Non-profit experience required.
