Location: Monsey, NY
Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site
Compensation: $125,000 – $175,000 (commensurate with experience)
Position Overview
The Human Resources Director will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the organization's people strategy. This individual will lead all facets of HR operations, ensure regulatory compliance, cultivate a positive workplace culture, and drive initiatives aligned with business objectives. This position demands strategic thinking, effective leadership, and a deep commitment to delivering an exceptional employee experience.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership
- Develop and implement HR strategies that align with organizational objectives
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on HR policies, practices, and workforce planning
- Translate business needs into actionable HR initiatives that drive performance and culture
Talent Acquisition & Performance Management
- Lead full-cycle recruitment to attract and hire top talent
- Implement retention strategies to build a high-performing workforce
- Oversee performance review processes and professional development initiatives
- Foster an inclusive, respectful, and engaging work environment
- Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts in a timely, fair manner
- Design and launch initiatives that enhance morale and team connection
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Conduct regular audits and implement corrective measures where needed
- Maintain up-to-date HR policies to minimize risk and support operational integrity
- Create and lead training programs aligned with organizational priorities
- Partner with leaders to identify skill gaps and learning needs
- Monitor and improve training effectiveness over time
HR Operations
- Oversee HR systems, recordkeeping, reporting, and compliance documentation
- Standardize policies, procedures, and HR-related communications for clarity and consistency
- Partner with Finance to develop and manage the HR department budget
- Identify cost-effective solutions and efficiencies in HR operations
- Ensure HR initiatives align with financial goals and resource allocation
Team Leadership
- Manage and mentor a diverse HR team, including:
- HR Associate
- Recruiting Specialist
- Office Manager
- Employee Engagement Specialist
- Remote HR Manager (oversees a team in the Philippines)
- Set clear objectives, provide continuous feedback, and foster a collaborative team culture
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in human resources and compliance
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to solve problems and implement structured processes
- Experience managing and developing cross-functional HR teams
- Excellent communication, organization, and decision-making skills
