Hospitalist Medical Director Opportunity

Waterbury Health is seeking an Internal Medicine trained and Board Certified physician to provide onsite management of the clinical and administrative aspects of our Hospitalist Program at Waterbury Hospital in Connecticut. The Medical Director ensures appropriate staffing levels and maintains an active presence in the hospital and units to support organizational goals. Candidates are required to have prior Internal Medicine / Hospitalist Leadership experience. Waterbury Hospital has 357 beds. Physicians typically carry an average of 14-16 patients per shift, with 3-5 shifts including one supervised and unsupervised admission per day. The schedule includes a closed ICU with 7 on / 7 off shifts, 12-hour shifts. Requirements Board Certified or Eligible in Internal Medicine with strong communication and interpersonal skills, clinical judgment, and demonstrated ability to work as a team player. Valid medical license and DEA registration.
