Hospital Laboratory Director Highlights: ??? Schedule: Full-time availability needed Mon-Fri 8hr shift ??? Pay Range: $50-55 Hourly Hospital Laboratory Director Responsibilities: ??? Oversees the operation of the Laboratory at the Medical Center including Core Lab, Blood Bank, Phlebotomy, and Point of Care. ??? Provides direction and supervision to Section Supervisors, Lead Technologists, and Technologists. ??? Strong emphasis on quality management and strategic thinking in Laboratory Management. Acts as the on-site administrative resource for the laboratory team. ??? Performs ongoing departmental monitoring to improve quality, workflow, staff productivity, and employee satisfaction. Responsible for the mentoring, coaching, and development of direct reports. ??? Compares and administers departmental budgets, coordinates objectives and goals designed to improve the fiscal and organizational operation of the laboratory. ??? Responsible for daily operations of all sections of the laboratory including oversight of quality control, instrument maintenance, scheduling of personnel, policy interpretation, inventory, and reference laboratory testing. ??? Completes all projects, reports, and evaluations assigned by the Laboratory Director within established time frames. ??? Ensures standards set forth by agencies of laboratory accreditation and licensure are met. ??? Maintains professional working relationships with all other departments through proper communication techniques. ??? Resolves problems by consulting with pathologists, other laboratory managers, technical coordinators, directors, and customer care teams. ??? Coordinates team meetings with supervisors, leads, and staff; establishes and evaluates communication pathways for effectiveness. ??? Maintains medical laboratory productivity by monitoring workloads, identifying peak and slack periods, and making operational or staffing adjustments. Hospital Laboratory Director Qualifications: ??? Must meet current CAP requirements for a laboratory supervisor. ??? Bachelor???s degree in medical technology, physical/chemical/biological/clinical laboratory science, and 5+ years in high complexity testing in CLIA/CAP environment; ASCP certification required. ??? Master???s degree (MBA, MHA) preferred. ??? Minimum of six (6) years clinical laboratory experience, including at least three (3) years in a laboratory supervisory role. ??? Must have prior experience as an administrative Lab Director with hospital experience in a multi-hospital system. ??? Minimum 5 years in a leadership role with C-Suite exposure. ???
