Job Title : Group Quality Director - SDG Reporting To: GVP, Quality & Operational Excellence Work Schedule: Onsite – Buffalo, NY About Moog: Moog is a global leader in precision motion control and engineering solutions, serving the aerospace, defense, industrial, and medical markets. Our Space and Defense Group delivers mission-critical technologies that power spacecraft, defense systems, and advanced data and power solutions. Job Summary: The Group Quality Director will lead and drive the quality strategy across the Space, Defense, and Power & Data Divisions within Moog’s Space and Defense Group. This role is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of product quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across all programs and facilities. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with deep expertise in quality systems, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence in highly regulated industries. Key Responsibilities: Develop and execute a unified quality strategy across the Space, Defense, and Power & Data Divisions. Lead a team of divisional quality leaders to ensure alignment with corporate and customer quality expectations. Champion a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across all levels of the organization. Ensure compliance with industry standards (AS9100, ISO 9001, NADCAP, etc.) and customer-specific requirements. Oversee internal and external audits, corrective actions, and risk mitigation plans. Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Program Management to ensure robust product development and production processes. Drive root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives to improve product reliability and customer satisfaction. Monitor and report on key quality metrics and performance indicators to executive leadership. Serve as the primary quality liaison for key customers and regulatory bodies. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, Business, or a related technical field (Master’s preferred). 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in quality management within aerospace, defense, or space sectors. Proven experience managing quality across multiple business units or product lines. Strong knowledge of quality systems, regulatory compliance, and industry standards. Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills. Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus. Ability to travel as needed across Moog sites and customer locations. Additional site-specific benefits may be offered Salary Range Transparency: Buffalo, NY $160,000.00–$210,000.00 Annually Salary Range Disclaimer The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, employee stock purchase plan, an open paid time off policy, and many region-specific benefits. This position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
