Group Account Director, Multicultural Markets Group Account Director, Multicultural Markets Culture ONE World is a cross-cultural advertising agency based in Washington, D.C., specializing in using creativity to drive social change that positively impacts communities. Our client roster includes AARP, Pepco, Waterford Learning, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s national drunk driving, seatbelt, and texting campaigns, U.S. Census Bureau, and others. We're rapidly expanding our client roster, and our award-winning work reaches millions of people in the hardest-to-reach communities. The Position: We seek a Washington D.C.-based Group Account Director with 10+ years of experience in multicultural and inclusive marketing and strategy to support our portfolio of clients, which focuses on markets across Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino, AAPI, NHOPI, Native American, and LGBTQ+ communities. In addition to overseeing the work streams of the staff, you will serve in a strategic role for our clients in the evolving space of multicultural marketing, inclusive engagement with hard-to-reach communities, policy shifts, and industry trends. You will lead our internal teams across strategy, events planning, creative, production, paid media, PR, and community partnerships. The position leads the work streams with the project management staff to ensure that all work is delivered on time, on budget, and with the highest quality standards. You will partner with senior leadership to ensure the efficient delivery of work while overseeing all activities associated with agency accounts. The position requires an understanding and demonstrated experience in strategy, research, events, PR/public affairs, creative, digital media, production, measurement, and reporting. We currently work in a hybrid environment, spending a couple of days a week in the downtown office at 15th St NW and L St NW, and working remotely the rest of the week. Responsibilities: Set the direction and vision for the campaign brand while having a passion and instinct for big ideas Develop strategic recommendations to clients around the evolving nature of the multicultural and inclusive marketing industry using data-driven sources Implement and execute culturally and data-based creative strategies into client communications work with your team of agency professionals Set, monitor, and manage yourself and the team to excellence across all work streams and deliverables for clients Demonstrate ownership mindset where every decision is filtered through the lens of business impact. Create communications plans for clients where none exists, then embrace and direct an integrated communications approach Manage the agency account portfolio's scope of work, staffing, and budget and report to senior management Serve as the client's management contact, setting agendas for regular update calls/meetings; develop and manage projects and programs, including implementation plans, evaluation mechanisms, staffing plans, budget, and timelines; efficiently plan and manage events Demonstrate a robust understanding of the roles and metrics of other communication channels and have the ability to lead integrated efforts Inspire agency and client confidence and be an effective leader of client relationships Proactively address future client and agency problems and opportunities; don't shy away from hard conversations Be effective in selling transformational creative in conservative environments (government social marketing campaign experience is a plus) Recognize and resolve conflict situations Be a team motivator who sets the tone, manages morale, and leads by example Identify potential talent and develop account staff Fluidly manage multiple assignments of considerable scale and complexity Identify and leverage new agency revenue opportunities for organic growth Participate in new business development, including taking an active role as part of the development/pitch team; develop tactics; serve as a member of the client-facing pitch team; proactively identify and pursue opportunities to grow existing business Be prepared for other tasks as assigned Qualifications: Approximately 10+ years of advertising/marketing experience with at least 4 years of managerial experience Deep knowledge of all U.S. multicultural communities, cultures, and distinctions Proven client and team leadership abilities Experience managing budgets, spreadsheets, staffing, timelines, and project P&Ls Leadership ability that inspires internal and external partners Experience and desire for impromptu speaking Ability as a spontaneous problem solver Excellent judgment and maturity Native Spanish language abilities in speaking and writing are a plus Seniority level Seniority level Director Employment type Employment type Full-time Job function Job function Sales and Business Development Industries Advertising Services Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Culture ONE World by 2x Inferred from the description for this job Medical insurance Vision insurance 401(k) Paid maternity leave Paid paternity leave Get notified about new Group Account Director jobs in Washington DC-Baltimore Area .
