Summary
This role is a unique opportunity for a dynamic and experienced professional to lead the Demand Planning process by developing and implementing scalable supply chain planning strategies to support business goals and objectives for a CPG company in the pet industry. This role is highly collaborative, and partners cross functionally to develop both a short term and long range demand plan.
Responsibilities
Strategic Demand Planning:
Leadership and Team Development: Lead and inspire a demand planning team to ensure every day great execution and create a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by:
Coaching and mentoring the demand planning team and developing talent within the team.
Identifying future leaders and partnering with teammates to establish plans for growth
Data-Driven Insights: Leverage data analytics to enhance supply chain efficiency and inform strategic decisions up/down the supply chain by:
Developing and implementing demand planning and sales forecasting processes, data collection and reporting, tracking and reporting of KPI’s.
Setting and monitoring forecast accuracy targets for demand planning team.
Analyzing demand data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Continuously improving forecasting accuracy through data-driven insights and process enhancements.
Providing a root cause analysis to “actual” versus “targeted” forecasts and troubleshoot when they are not aligned.
Operational Excellence: Oversee all aspects of the Demand Planning processes including S&OP, supply planning and inventory management processes by:
Serving as Owner of the operational sales forecast/demand Plan.
Partnering with key stakeholders to drive alignment between operational and financial forecasts.
Lead S&OP meetings to ensure alignment between demand forecasts, supply plans, and financial plans.
Providing insights and recommendations to improve the S&OP process and achieve business objectives.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address demand-supply imbalances and operational challenges.
Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy of the demand planning process.
Communicating clearly with senior leadership on a regular basis regarding demand planning and execution trends, insights, and future risks to the business.
Continuously refining the demand planning model to understand and reflect updated assumptions and new learnings.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field. 10+ years of experience in Supply Chain (with at least 3+ years in demand planning role)
Strong analytical and communication skills.
Tableau experience and knowledge is preferred.
Functional knowledge and experience working with ERP systems. Oracle ASCP and Demantra modules is preferred.
Experience and Knowledge of S&OP process and practices.
Strong understanding of Global Supply Chain information and material flows
Exceptional leadership, strategic thinking, and communication skills.
Have a strong process orientation coupled with the ability to operate in a less structured environment when necessary.
Ability to lead effectively and handle conflict in cross-functional integration role.
Highly collaborative leadership style and excellent facilitations skills.
Strong influence management skills and capable of working up and down the org chart.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Execute within tight timeframes with superior attention to detail and accuracy.
Sound strategic thinking to ensure all forecasts are rooted in data.
Background in pet products, CPG, retail, D2C experience preferred.
Willingness to manage multiple time-zones and adjust schedules to accommodate.
Relationships
Will report directly to VP of Supplier Management
