About the role As a Claims Director at Reserv, you will be responsible for a team of Claims Professionals overseeing Commercial General Liability and Cyber claims. You will drive operational effectiveness with a focus on leveraging technology and analytics to improve efficiency and performance in General Liability and Cyber claims. You will work with your team, customers, and clients to ensure high-quality standards are maintained, while adhering to regulatory requirements and internal and external SLAs. This role requires exceptional leadership and understanding of trucking claims, ideally with experience managing large, complex claims portfolios. Who you are Highly motivated and growth-oriented Subject matter expert with deep technical and claims experience in commercial transportation, coverage, and litigation; experienced in reviewing and analyzing contracts Tech-oriented and excited about building a tech-driven claims organization; proven results leveraging technology and analytics Passionate claims professional who cares about the team, the customer, and the experience Empathetic leader who demonstrates patience toward everyone you interact with Sense of urgency and accountability; understands appropriate work hours Creative problem-solver who leverages technology and team talents to address challenges Curious and decisive; seeks the whole story to make informed decisions Anti-status quo; takes action to improve processes Strong communicative skills, especially in phone-based claims communications Sense of humor; aware of the demands of the role What we need We need you to perform the responsibilities typical to the role: Manage a unit of General Liability and Cyber claims professionals at the management and desk level Be consistently dependable in achieving or exceeding goals and overcoming obstacles Implement and maintain best practices for claims handling (intake, investigation, evaluation, settlement, recovery) Monitor and analyze claims data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement Align team with client and customer expectations of the claims process Serve as a resource for escalated claims Responsible for accuracy and adequacy of all aspects of claim reserving Develop and implement strategies to mitigate fraudulent claims and ensure regulatory compliance Foster a positive work environment, promote teamwork, and encourage professional growth Execute performance management; attract, hire, retain and provide training at a high level Collaborate with internal teams (Account Management, Compliance, Claim Operations) to resolve complex issues Establish and maintain relationships with external stakeholders (policyholders, agents, brokers, legal representatives) Prepare and present comprehensive claims reports and analysis; advise on claim trends and loss mitigation Requirements Bachelor's degree in insurance, business administration, or related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CPCU, AIC) and a JD are a plus 10+ years in insurance claims management experience in Commercial General Liability Minimum of 5 years in commercial claims, ideally with: Third-party bodily injury, including catastrophic losses New York Labor Law Litigation experience Cyber 5+ years of management experience, preferably in a remote environment Comfortable with technology and evolving claims systems and processes to drive efficiencies Commitment to quality, accuracy, and attention to detail Integrity, ethics, and accountability in handling confidential information Benefits Generous health-insurance package with nationwide coverage, vision, and dental 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching Competitive PTO policy Generous family leave policy Work from anywhere to support work-life balance Apple laptop, large second monitor, and other quality-of-life equipment Additionally, we will Listen to your feedback to enhance and improve the claims role Work toward reducing administrative work from an adjuster role Foster a culture of empathy, transparency, and empowerment in a remote-first environment At Reserv, we value diversity in backgrounds and experiences and believe diversity drives innovation and success.
