Gap Inc. Director, Merchandising - Beauty Business

As the Merchandising Director for our Beauty division, you will lead the end-to-end merchandising strategy and financial planning across both vertical and third-party product assortments. This role is central to the newly launched Beauty division, a strategic growth initiative within our organization, leveraging our iconic brand portfolio and omnichannel retail capabilities. You will shape the product vision, drive category performance, and ensure a compelling and cohesive assortment that resonates with our customers across physical and digital channels.

What You'll Do

  • Own the merchandising strategy for vertical and third-party product assortments.
  • Develop and manage the financial plan including sales, margin, and inventory.
  • Lead assortment planning, pricing, and lifecycle management.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution.
  • Analyze customer insights and market trends to inform decisions.
  • Drive innovation in product selection and storytelling.
  • Build and lead a high-performing merchandising team.
  • Ensure a cohesive omnichannel experience.
  • Identify growth opportunities and optimize category performance.
  • Align merchandising strategies with overall business goals.

Who You Are

  • 10+ years of merchandising experience in retail, beauty, or consumer goods.
  • Success in launching and scaling new business units or brands.
  • Collaborative leader with strong influence across teams.
  • Strategic thinker with deep customer and category insights.
  • Operationally rigorous with cross-functional experience.
  • Passionate about beauty and customer experience.
  • Skilled in data-driven decision-making and performance analysis.

Salary Range: $152,500 - $202,000 USD

Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.
