In this connection, the Director provides vision and leadership to the Academic Advising department, which includes all aspects of student-centered advising from first-time enrollment to degree attainment. The Director is responsible for the implementation of an intentional and relational advising framework. The Director will facilitate the development, coordination, facilitation, and integration of outcome-driven efforts in academic advising that support student success (e.g., retention, persistence, and graduation). The Director is responsible for the organization and operations of the Advising Center. The Director will support the implementation of career communities, holistic advising, and curriculum mapping.
Furthermore, the director will lead the planning and execution of new student orientation and registration workshops, ensuring a seamless transition for students throughout the orientation process and into registration and matriculation. The Director will provide leadership and support to the College’s student success initiatives by successfully integrating strategies and activities. This will be achieved through the development and implementation of a multi-tier strategy that is collaborative and measurable. The strategy will be grounded in best-practices with a focus on research, retention, and student success as they relate to Academic Advising.
Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.
Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process. Required Qualifications:
Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Prior work experience in Student Affairs, Academic Advising or similar experience at a higher education institution.
Demonstrated experience supervising or leading a team.
Demonstrated professional written/verbal skills. Preferred Qualifications:
Community College experience.
