MANAGING CONSULTANT + TEAM LEAD JOB INTRODUCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES

The iDS Forensics Team has team members in Washington, DC, Costa, Mesa, CA, and Atlanta, GA. The Managing Consultant will be a senior team member expected to work a hybrid schedule to lead two junior consultants and drive strategy around evidence management and project execution in the areas of forensic data collections, data extraction, analysis. This person is also expected provide day-to day guidance to junior team members providing positive and motivating feedback.

  • Provide day-to day guidance to the team that exemplify our core values, keeping a positive energy and providing motivation that can be replicated throughout the organization
  • Provide direction for smooth execution of forensic related tasks on a daily basis
  • Participate in the hiring, mentoring, and performance management of the new and existing team members
  • Provide written and verbal constructive feedback and coaching during Quarterly Conversations
Consulting
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on Forensics consulting projects
  • Provide organization and structure around DC/East Coast resourcing of collections and projects
  • Contribute to the strategy around lab and evidence Management: Forensics Software, Policies and procedures, Inventory, and CoC
  • Participate in and support Business Development activities through sales calls, client pitches, RFPs, etc.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Attend team and company meetings on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Submit time in accordance with preset deadlines
  • May be asked to perform other duties not listed in this job description as required by business needs
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience collecting and analyzing forensic data; professional services experience strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of mentoring and training junior team members
  • Very strong understanding and application of forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK, Cellebrite, Axiom, Oxygen, etc.
  • Proven ability to collect and analyze data from various media including: desktops, laptops, tablets, cell phones, social media, etc.
  • Proven ability to maintain appropriate documentation such as Chain of Custody (CoC)
  • Certification in 1 or more tools preferred (EnCE, FTK, GCFE)
  • Willingness to travel and meet position needs outside of regular business hours
  • Experience supporting expert testimony a plus (i.e., declarations, depositions, expert reports)
Candidates Likely to Succeed
  • Possess impeccable problem solving, reasoning and analytical skills with a solid understanding of core project management principles, particularly in providing litigation support services
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, effectively managing many details
  • Ability to interact with diplomacy and tact while maintaining appropriate assertiveness and persistence
  • Positive attitude with a desire and willingness to solve problems
  • The ability to seek out answers in the absence of formal direction
  • Flexibility regarding work schedule to meet position needs outside of regular business hours
  • Individuals must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without an accommodation
Working Location & Conditions:
  • Hybrid, with the ability to travel (local and non-local) when business needs require
  • Home office, should be a quiet and professional space that can be used for virtual meetings (that include video as needed) and maintain client confidentiality
Compensation: Base salary range $160,000-185,000 depending on experience. Consultants are also eligible for a charge hour incentive bonus based on utilization and billable targets. Additionally, iDS offers a competitive benefits package where the company contributes 75% to the employee premium.
