Sonnet Hill Senior Living, located in San Jose, CA, is seeking a professional, customer-oriented Physical Plant Director to oversee maintenance, repairs, and safety compliance for our community. Responsibilities of the Physical Plant Director Exhibits leadership qualities and communicates professionally with employees, residents, family members, responsible parties, and other healthcare professionals. Manages the day-to-day maintenance and operational needs of a 24/7 senior living community. Oversees and manages the proper operation of all equipment, mechanical, and grounds systems. Implements preventative and predictive maintenance for the physical plant and community vehicles as scheduled and needed. Ensures that the property grounds are regularly monitored for safety and the wellbeing of residents, employees, and visitors. Manages housekeeping department. Responsible for scheduling staff, supply purchasing, budgetary forecasting, and compliance. Coordinates and documents the community Safety Committee meetings. Plans, budgets, and schedules modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials, and other related costs. Participates in new employee orientation and monthly in-services. Ensures residents are provided privacy, respect, and dignity. Follows standard precautions and infection control procedures. Completes state-required training upon hire and annually. Required Experience Possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of two (2) years’ hands-on experience as maintenance supervisor in multi-residence or similar setting. Must have basic technical knowledge and mechanical ability to perform routine maintenance and repair on mechanical and electrical equipment generally used in the community. Basic computer skills. Must be able to speak, read, and write in English. State Criminal Background Check and LIC 508 Criminal Record Statement. LIC 503 Health Screening Report.
