About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Medical Director for Clinical Development in Obesity. The successful candidate will be responsible for the execution of large and complex clinical studies and programs, serving as an expert resource to anticipate and resolve clinical and conduct issues. This role involves leading the Global Clinical Subteam and driving the creation of clinical development strategies for multiple indications. The Executive Medical Director will also be a key leader in the design, implementation, and execution of clinical development programs to meet decision milestones and regulatory requirements. A strong background in clinical research, with a focus on Phases I through IV, and a medical or scientific expertise in endocrinology, CV/metabolism, or obesity is strongly preferred.
Applicants for this role at the company should have an MD or MD/PhD with over 8 years' experience in clinical research or drug development, including at least 6 years in a people management role. The position requires a candidate with strong management, interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, as well as considerable organizational awareness and experience in working cross-functionally. The Executive Medical Director will be responsible for ensuring the safety and quality of all clinical documents, and must have a strong understanding of the global regulatory environment and the operational aspects of all phases of clinical trial conduct. The role demands a leader who can build and manage effective teams, and who is adept at interacting with both internal and external stakeholders as a medical expert.
