Jordan Porco Foundation August 29, 2024 Hartford, CT Share About the Jordan Porco Foundation The Jordan Porco Foundation was founded in 2011 by Ernie and Marisa Porco after they lost their son, Jordan, to suicide when he was a freshman in college. In their grief, Jordan’s parents learned the unacceptable statistics surrounding mental health and suicide in the young adult population, and decided they needed to turn their grief into action so that other families would never have to experience such a profound loss. The Jordan Porco Foundation is committed to preventing suicide in the high school, college, and college entry student population. Through awareness, education, and innovative programming, JPF is challenging stigma around mental health and help-seeking, creating open conversations about the prevalence of suicide and mental health issues in the young adult population, and saving lives. About the Role At this important moment in its history, JPF seeks a passionate leader, seasoned and creative fundraiser and visionary strategist to guide the organization toward expanded reach and impact. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) has responsibility for fund development, staff oversight, operations, and implementation of the mission of JPF. The ED provides strategic leadership for organizational development, annual goals and objectives, program implementation and financial oversight. JPF seeks a seasoned fundraiser with a proven track record of building and growing a diversified donor base to ensure financial sustainability. The successful candidate will be an active listener and learner, strong collaborator, and an inclusive leader. They will inspire and motivate staff, constituents, and funders to realize the JPF mission to prevent suicide, promote mental health, and create a message of hope for young adults.
