DIRECTING EXECUTIVE OPERATIONS AT PCC The Executive Director drives the "front-to-back door" growth of the church by enhancing the operational efficiency of pastoral leadership and ministry teams for both Sunday and non-Sunday initiatives. Qualifications & Evaluation Process Completion of application 2+ years of oversight and management experience (ministry, non-profit, for-profit) 2+ recommendations from leaders and teammates (family, ministry, non-profit, for-profit) Initial phone interview In-person interview with 1+ members of Pastoral Board/Ministry Staff In-person interview with the full Pastoral Board/Ministry Staff Character – This individual—and when reasonable and appropriate, their family—should demonstrate: Respected presence and accountability before the congregation Humble ambition for the role (growth mindset with receptivity to feedback) Wise confidentiality and discernment regarding sensitive pastoral matters Faithful and fruitful servant leadership in ministry (congregational, parachurch, etc.) Faithful and fruitful servant leadership in family Visible growth in personal health and wellness (spiritual, socioemotional, physical, intellectual) Harmony between responsibilities and relationships, work and rest Competencies – The individual must demonstrate: Trustworthy leadership promoting transparency, teamwork, accountability, and spiritual integrity Skillful organization, planning, and administration for managing complex systems and processes Clear, consistent, and compelling communication for building consensus across diverse teams Resilience and capacity for managing complex team dynamics in multicultural, multigenerational settings Knowledge and efforts to grow in the church’s congregational and missional contexts (e.g., pastoral health, critical consciousness, local/regional exegesis, equity structures) Knowledge and efforts to grow in theology (e.g., missional, biblical, systematic, practical) Connections Partnership and presence with Pastoral Board, Ministry Team Leaders, Volunteers Participation in Sunday worship (12+ in Fall, 20+ in Spring) and Community Groups (5+, 7+) Engagement with non-PCC local/regional leaders (congregations, campus ministries, municipalities, non-profits) Operational Management Strategic Planning Operations Collaborate on annual strategic planning with Lead Pastor and Pastoral Board Oversee planning cycle (SWOT, objectives, calendars, budgets) for all ministry teams Manage semi-annual staff support, feedback, and reviews Ministry Operations Manage recruitment, execution, monitoring, reflections, and adjustments of ministry teams Oversee weekly staff meetings and follow-up Update church events calendar Manage Pastoral Board and congregational meetings Enhance ministry ownership through volunteer recruitment and training Improve key systems for operational efficiency (workplans, checklists, dashboards) Manage semester scheduling via Planning Center Oversee hardware, software, supplies, signage for initiatives Legal, Finance, & Facility Operations Implement financial growth strategies Enhance systems for transparent accounting and reporting Ensure compliance with 501c3 regulations Manage payroll, purchasing, reimbursements, donations Address legal compliance and incident reporting Update job descriptions in line with vision and legal standards Streamline ministry requests and finances Handle mail follow-up Coordinate with facilities management Process year-end tax statements Communication & Content Operations Maintain and expand website and social media platforms Update content across digital platforms Implement SEO and AI strategies Manage branding and visual identity Compensation ● $2,000/month (subject to adjustments based on performance and circumstances) ● 20 hours/week, including Sunday worship presence. The candidate should aim to increase operational efficiency within 15 hours/week, excluding Sunday worship. PCC will share workplans and systems upon hiring.
